It needs to regain its vocation as a social node, a place characterized previously as a space void of "superstructure" able to accommodate multiple activities of community life. Instead it is fragmented and rendered almost impassable by a crowded network of walls, flower beds, terraces, oblique paths and elevated platforms where it is unable to perceive and use it as a square.

The design recalls the situation prior to the 70s: a space substantially "free" characterized by the prevalence of its length, conserving only the trees from the current conformation. In this regard, while retaining most of the lime trees (Tilia).

The project proposes a space that returns to being a public "square", a the place of encounter, Iinteraction, events for all ages, young and old, whose identity is expressed in confirmation of its elongated the spatial volume, like the original design.

Abstract:
The present structure of Piazza IV Novembre is the indigestible result of 1970s "street furniture" that has conditioned its use as a public space, denying its importance as a place for commerce, recreation, entertainment and as the natural expansion of the city center.
