Abstract:
The Monte Antuni Hamlet (Castrum Antoni) occupies the top of a promontory (664m) that dominates the artificial lake of Turano (536m m.s.l.). Founded at the beginning of the 11th century the hamlet’s history is tied to that of its neighbour Castel di Tora (Castrum Vetus de Oppiano then Castelvecchio) both fortifications standing guard over the now submersed valley floor.
